FT of tilt 14.5K

OK I hope to pick up my posting this week. Now that the World Series is over I need to get back in my routine again. I took 4th in today's 14.5K on Tilt. I made a resteal with 42s and ran into AA on the bubble and had less than 5BBs with 28 left there on the bubble and managed to finish 4th. Quite a comeback so I can't complain too much about my losing Ax to Kx when he rivers a K 4 handed. I had the FT in the freeroll over the weekend but hadn't made one in a while other than that. Not a huge score but felt good to prove to myself I can come back from a short stack like that.

Nothing else major today. 1 other small cash in the $11 20K on stars about broke even there I think. Bubbled 1 or 2 other tournies today as well. Still getting deep in events just not getting deep enough though.

I don't know how many PXF guys are still reading this or if anyone is actually but I got asked by a couple subs this week about more SNG vids. If there is enough interest I might do another one or two but there just didn't seem to be much interest in the 1st and the site I had it uploaded on took it down pretty quick due to inactivity. So if you read this and are interested post in the thread in the SNG forum section.

VIP freeroll final table

I just started playing these and today there were 3 of them. I finished 4th in the 20K freeroll today. Pretty disappointed as I got $800 but 1st was almost 3K. I played well and was crippled several times and just kept fighting my way back in to it. Couple other small cashes today nothing much. I built a big stack in the early $109 and was top 10 or 15 with 100 left and finished about 75th. Was pretty disgusting.

I finished 42 or 43 in the P5s Open. Top 40 got free $215 seats and I lose AJ to 76 or something like that. Maybe 65. Anyway it was a 6 on river and I was out.


Anyway Sox are on tonight so I'm going to watch them and get ready for an early day tomorrow.

8 cashes but no big scores

Well I haven't played much this week working around the house and getting my new 60" Sony SBR TV installed this week and the Sox in the World Series has kept me busy. I've been in the zone today and have 8 cashes but no big scores though. Pretty frustrating. I just can't seem to get a break late when I need one. I lose a big race or run KK into Ax and lose. I played well in the 100K on Stars tonight but got short in the 3rd hour and shoves QJs and ran into QQ. I turn OESD and he turns OESFD and he catches the SF.

I cashed the $109 on Stars, the $25 25K on stars, the 24K on tilt, both of the daily doubles on tilt, a $16.50 360 man where I made the final 2 tables and got donked out, and I think something else on Tilt i'm forgetting about. Maybe the $55 $15K but not certain. Also just cashed in the $55 59L on Stars and 150 left so I have a ways to go before I have to change my title of this LOL! I'm proud of my play today and if I can keep playing like this the results will come. I really made some calls and some reads on players that I usually can't or don't feel comfortable making. But today I was picking up people's hands and reading situations really well.

Sundays Suck!

Well I played the 3 majors on Stars and the Mulligan at Tilt tonight and 0 scores. I don't remember my exit in the Warmup, the Million in hour 3 I ran AK into AA, 2nd chance I reraise a weak LP player from the SB with KJs for enough to commit us on the flop and he flatted me with A9 I think and flops his Ace. I really think his call was horrible. I never got going in the Mulligan and ran 99 into TT when he min raised and I shoved. Whats up with the min raises at Tilt anyway? I mean I see so many guy min raise fold or make some weird calls with med pairs, AT and AJ type hands. I really feel the players at Tilt are much worse than Stars.

I cashed the 109 early this afternoon, I went deep in the $10 Sunday 100K and I think I was about 150th. My 3rd score was a $24 on Tilt. 31 players left MP raises I reraise from the btn with AQ once again committing myself and giving him plenty of room to fold but he flats A7s. Flops a flush draw and shoves me and I'm out when he turns it. Then tells me he meant to fold preflop but was watching TV.

Overall a really rough week. I think I'm playing much better over the weekend than during the week. And I'm playing higher buy ins and larger fields than the 20/180s so I expect more variance but not sure I was prepared for it either.

Stars today let me cash in 125K FPPs today for a $2K BestBuy gift cert and as soon as it comes in I'll be getting my new Sony 60" XBR HDTV. I've been wanting one for 18 months or more. So I can't wait to finally get this installed.

And the Sox are on now up 3-1 and I'm out of all my games so its time for a late dinner and some baseball. Go Sox!!

6 cashes and counting...

OK I'm too frustrated to think of a title maybe i'll change it later. I cashed in the SuperNova freeroll for a small cash today. I barely cashed the $55 $15K on tilt today after being super short for hours just hanging on I went on a rush and 1st hand ITM I run QQ into KK and out 1st. Same time I'm deep in the $24 $17.5K on Tilt. I played well I thought tables were stupid aggressive late. 11 people left EP limps and SB limps and I have A8 and 11BBs and I shove. The leader of stupid/agro calls me in the SB with QTo and I'm out. Very next hand they go to the FT which was dbl the payout for 9th v/s 11th. I win the hand and I was probably 4th or 5th in chips and in good shape. Just frustrating day. ITM in the $50K on Stars and someone just dbled me AA > JTs on J hi flop in the $109 25K which is usually a bad sign. I had a CL in the earlier 109 early today and got within about 10 of the bubble.

But so far 4 cashes on the day and I just busted 29th in the $50K AQs < KK.

Edit: I also cashed the 109 tonight in 33rd for 5th cash of the day.

Edit just cashed the $55 $50K on stars. I'll update if I make a big score here.

Rough night

This is going to be a short one. I had planned to stop playing early tonight because the beats were just non stop. What made me decide to call it a night finally was I had 15K at 1st break in the $109. I raise 77 from EP, SB calls and shove J8x flop I think it was with QTo on a stop and go. I call and he catches his gutshot on the river. Then I raise AA UTG next orbit and get called by the BB. I had roughly 10K in chips he had about 6K blinds I believe were 100/200. Flop is Qxx he checks I bet about 3/4 pot and he insta over shoves and I call. Once again QTo and he rivers a Q. I'm pretty mad at this point and ask in chat if everyone thought QTo was the nuts tonight. His reply was classic "You want me to fold top pair?" And I don't think he was kidding was the sad part. There are people playing $100+ buy in events that are really this f'ing stupid. He then later finished me off with KT v/s my AQ cause he runs like god.

So I was in 2 games and in poor shape so I unreg from everything else ready to call it a night and get on a run in the Tilt 24K I guess it was. Last hour I went really card dead and was just getting abused at the tables. Any raise I made I got shoved on. I managed to pick off a steal attempt AJ > JT and then 1st hand back from break I raise AQ and get shoved on for thr 5th or 6th time a row and made a marginal call and he showed KK and I was out in 22nd place after having been one of the CLs for quite a while in the tourny. Just frustrating to build myself up and then go out like I did.

SUPERNOVA!!!!!!

Finally I got to SuperNova on Stars. Nothing much happened today. I went kinda deep in several tournies but went out before the bubble. I cashed the 50K on Stars but blew up after we got in the money. Best exit had to be the late $109. Level 3 EP limps, I raise KK get called by one of the blinds, EP shoves I call blinds calls. EP had QQ and blind had A2o and turn is A river Q and I was out quick there.

And I somehow managed to be chip leader in the 50/50 on Tilt for the majority of the tournament and give away all my chips in 5 minutes with about 50 players remaining.

Another final table today

OK 1st of all congrats to Stevie444 on his 2nd place in the Stars 1K Super Tuesday. Had a big lead HU but still an amazing finish.

I took 3rd today in Stars $22 1RB/1AO. I had a 2:1 lead 10 handed over 2nd place. And 3 handed I had a 3:1 lead. Then ran TT into QQ on a J hi flop. I couldnt get away from it. He had about 300K and I had 700K. He makes its 30K to go and I make it almost 100K and he flats me. Flop is Jxx and pot is 200K and he had just under that in his stack so I set him in and he had Qs. Then I get raised from the btn and I shove AK and he flips KK and I'm out in 3rd. Pretty disappointed with the finish but not much I could do. I really ran over the tables late. I ran into 2 monster hands trying to abuse the FT bubble but was either 1st or 2nd when we started it but I had all the big stacks on my left. Overall I'm happy with my play and I can't control the results.

This is still early so I may come back and add on tonight. I tripled up lvl 1 of the $27.0 $25K on Stars so maybe thats a sign of good things to come.

I'm back but not really

OK I'm back playing tonight but really wish I hadn't. I love playing on Tilt but man other than the $15K the other day I don't think I've made it deep in anything there. I cashed the $25 + $2.5 on Stars but went out early ITM when I tried to bluff a guy off of quads. I ran into quads 3 times tonight I think and I attempted to bluff them every time I think. Just a frustrating night over all. I made a couple bad plays, a few bad reads and really was off my game and ran horrible so its a bad combo.

Good news for the day though is Stars is going to let me cash in my FPPs for a gift cert to allow me to get the new Sony 60" HDTV I wanted without having to get all the way to the concierge service. I'll hit Nova this week not exactly sure what day I am 360 VPPs away now. So maybe Thursday night or Friday night I get there.

And currently Stevie has the chip lead in the Super Tuesday $1K buy in on Stars and has 2x 2nd place with 36 players remaining. And my RedSox blew up again tonight and I'm on life tilt again.

Last day before vacation

OK I'm taking off on Thursday so I'll spend tomorrow getting ready. I only made 1 score today and that was 22nd int he $55 $50K on Stars. Not a big score but decent. I'm not happy with my play late in it though. I lost 1 big race and then really just seemed lost at the table. The players really just picked me apart I felt. There is a big difference between the 20/180s and the 55s and 109s late and I need to get more experience playing these guys I think. But once I make the adjustments I think I'll be in good shape in these games.

I played the 162 I think for the 1st time and made it a couple hours in but never got anything going. I ran bad in most everything else. The absolute worst was lvl 1 of the 2nd $55 $50 on Stars. I limp behind in LP with KJs and flop comes down AQT 2 clubs. One of the blinds opened and I raised and he shoves about 2.8K into a 300 pot and I call and he rivers a boat. Really summed up my day and even the last several days for me. Hopefully I'll be running better when I come back on Monday.

I'm also 528 VPPs from Nova so it shouldn't take long when I get to knock them out. Hopefully by middle of next week.

No Pokerbowl for me

Thats all there is to say I guess. I'll probably take today and off and get drunk or something and not sure about Tuesday yet. I'm taking wednesday off to pack up for my trip for the weekend and I guess I'll start playing again next monday. I was disappointed by the last minute rule changes that takes away the advantages of being a SNG player and obv I'm disappointed to have not made the team as I thought I was one of the leading candidates but oh well. More than anything I just wanted the free trip to Vegas as I've never been before. So now I'll just have to win a couple of MTTs and give myself a vacation there soon.

I have said I was going to start seriously job hunting if I didn't make the PokerBowl team but with my recent MTT run I may put that off a lil while longer I'm not sure. Someone asked me today about going back to SNGs and I just can't see myself doing it at least not for a while. I know part of my run in MTTs has to be the luck factor but I think my run has shown to be at least some skill involved having made so many Final Tables and deep finishes. I'll continue offering SNG coaching on the side as I have been. Just because I'm not playing them every day doesn't mean I can't help others improve their game.

FT of Stars $109 $25K tonight

Well my run at the Sunday majors didn't go over as I would have liked. I had a big stack in the Million and made a couple moves that didn't work out and finished 500ish. Small score but frustrating to get that deep in the biggest tourny of the week and then not get any further than I did. Everything else was lost races or mis plays by me I think.

I made the final table of the Stars 109 $25K GTD tonight which was cool. Biggest FT I ever made. I was 2nd in chips with about 36 left and I believe I was 2nd or 3rd with 18 left. Lilholdem to my left and he demolished the table and I went complete card dead and didn't make any moves. Basically became a nit because I was spooled of him and blinded my chips off. I made the FT and ran J2o in the SB into K2o in the BB and that was it for me. I think the score might have put me up on the day but probably not by a lot.

And I am 781 VPPs from Nova. So roughly $156 in rake will get me there. I don't know if I will play that much this week because I'll be out of town from Thursday - Sunday and may take off Wednesday to pack up.

Also I should find out about PokerBowl tomorrow. Mindwise is supposed to let us know who the winner is. For those who don't know about it check out the website http://www.uspokerbowl.com 1 subscriber is going to make the team and I made the final 8. So keep your fingers crossed. I'll update the results tomorrow.

FT bubbles suck

Well I bubbled the final table of the 10+1TB+1AO tonight on stars. I cashed my 1st tourny at Tilt since the $15K GTD win as well. Just barely as 3 of us busted on the bubble hand I somehow had more chips than them. Hand of the night was late in the 10+1+1 when I have just under 10 BBs and shoved 43o in the SB. BB calls with A6 and I double through and he spends 20 minutes berating me chat demanding an apology. It was classic chat. But the poker gods giveth and they taketh away because the next hands I had in my other 2 tournies were disasters. I lose AA to AQo in a 3 way all in pre on a rivered gutshot and I lose KK to AQ at Tilt when some donkey calls a pot sized shove on the 9 hi flop.

I thought I played pretty well today but my results weren't what I would have liked. I thought I played a great game in the 10+1+1. Its a tourny I play very well usually and I think its the 2nd time in 2 weeks I bubbled the FT there. I went pretty deep in the $25+2.5 $25K GTD on Stars as well tonight.

Hopefully my luck changes for the good tomorrow as I'm playing most of the majors on Stars and Tilt for the 1st time. I've played the Sunday Million a couple times a couple of years ago when I would sat in but not recently so that should be some fun.

And on the SuperNova watch I'm like 1500 point from SuperNova so it should be close. I'm taking off next weekend but maybe the week after I should get there hopefully.

2 more Final Tables today

2 more final tables in the Stars 180s today. I think it was a 5th and a 4th. Didn't run well today and the final table I came in as the shortest stack. Survived on stealing blinds here and there. 4 handed I raise K5 in the SB and the BB calls. Flop KQ5. I bet, she shoves and I call and she had Q4. River Q obv and I'm out. But I'm happy with the 2 final tables but no big scores today. Guess I used up my luckbox yesterday LOL!

Well if I needed more incentive to stay in MTTs a while longer I got it today. I won a $55 $15K GTD on Tilt, a $20 180 man on Stars, and took 9th in the $55 $25K GTD on Stars tonight. The 9th was a tough break for me. Came in 5th place at the final table and raise AKs, get reraised and he's committed to calling my shove but I shove anyway. He flips over 88 and I brick out.

But thats now 4 wins, 1 2nd in about 10 days. I have 1 other FT in a 180 and I bubbled a FT on Tilt on Monday so overall I'm pleased with my results so far. And I know they can't stay this good but I'm enjoying it while it last. :-)
