finally a couple of winning days

Finally I'm up at 50NL. Only took 16K hands to get there lol. I'm not crushing the games and I've got a ton of work to do as well but I think I'm getting close to where I need to be. I'm still tighter than I should be and I'm working on loosening up my game some preflop. I've moved up to 12 tables tonight and thats part of why my PFR #s are lower than I'd like them to be. Sample size is still pretty low and I had a couple horrible sessions early on but things seem to be leveling out and I'm getting a lot better feel for the games.

I've taken several shots at NL cash before but I don't think I played enough to really get a feel for it like I needed to. I'd play 5K or 10K hands and be break even or slightly losing and just go back to SNGs or MTTs. I just got Ed Miller's Getting Started In Hold Em then I'm going to read NL Hold Em Theory and Practice again. It helped a lot with my MTT game last game year. I'm also wanting to get Harrington's new books on cash games. I think I'm going to move over to Stars for cash games in April and start working on getting back to SuperNova there.

quick update

OK thought I'd make a quick update. I had a horrible run at the 24Ts and at the same time I had a couple of good job leads so I spent over a week rereading some programming and web design design books but the jobs didn't pan out. I'm still job hunting and started playing some NL cash in the mean while. I did ok at the 25NL games and moved up to 50NL but have run pretty bad. 1st day I did 2K hands and was up about $15. Last night I did just over 2K hands and finished down 5BIs on a couple of suck outs. Tonight I broke even after being up 5 BIs. I lost a ton of small pots to short stacks with KK v/s Ax and them flopping an Ace and me being committed to their short stack. And my AA losing to JTs, QJs, etch when they called 1/3 of their stack preflop and got it on the draw.

I ran a boat into quads tonight, got rivered boat over boat. We were over 200BBs deep on the hand and I just called the river 3 bet and somehow I managed not to lose my stack. I had AA and a TAG in MP bet I 3 bet from the SB and he 4 bet. I decided to call instead of shove knowing he could only call the shove with KK+ but might stack off on a flop. Flop QJx I CRAI and of course he had QJo and I don't catch up. With bonus and rakeback I'm down about 3 BIs at this level over 8K hands. I'm going to keep grinding away a little longer at this level and I'm sure I can beat this level just as well as I was 25NL.
