Can everyone really have a set v/s me?

Cause it sure as the hell feels that way. I've lost 3 tournies at Tilt. 2 of them I had an overpair v/s a set. The 3rd AQs on AJ8Q board. The 2 over pair hands were people calling with no odds v/s me and catching. I lost a big race in the early 50K as well with about 1/2 the field gone. Near the bubble of the 20^3 I'm waiting for someone to flop another set on me here too.

shitty day

Well I skipped the late tournies today. Just haven't felt well or run well. I ran several overpairs into sets. The worst of the day was the 25K on Tilt. I get crippled to 1.5BBs with about 70 left and build it back up to over 20BBs and lose QQ to 77 with 50 remaining 45 paid. He catches a runner runner straight to put him in 5th place overall. MBN to win that and have a ton of chips for the bubble. Thats as close as I came to cashing anything today. I am 15 from the bubble in the 10^3 on Stars but just lost a big showdown and I'm crippled so looks like I'm going to bubble it to. Oh well I'm crashing early and hopefully doing better tomorrow.

Stars 55^3 final table

OK I posted this to my old blog its from yesterday.

Well another final table today. I could get used to this. LOL! I don't play this often but I very likely will be. I got lucky a couple times to get deep and did a good job with 2 tables left of restealing to build up my stack. I pulled a couple squeeze plays as well and was about 4th going into the final table. I lost some chips and the blinds went up and I was in push/fold mode and lost a race 6 handed v/s the big stack. Kinda disappointing but I was really card dead at the FT and just couldn't get spots to make a move for some chips.

I also got a huge stack in the 25K on Tilt. 70 left I was 4th. 65 left I was probably 55th LOL! I built and lost it within 1 orbit I think. Somehow I did slide into the money there. Had a monster stack for most of the $10 20K on Stars as well. I had 16K at 1st break and just kept riding it through. I lost my position in it when I was focusing on the final couple tables of the 55^3 and when I came back I was still above average and lost a couple of big pots. Then with about 200 left I guess I got into 2 blind wars and lost both of them. The last QJ v/s 99 on a T9x board.

I should be in the 900s somewhere in the ranking when P5s gets all my scores in. Hopefully I can keep this momentum going a while longer. Feels good to run good for a change though . :-) Now if I can only win a couple of these flips at FTs.

13.5K WIN on Full Tilt

You didn't misread that I finally won another tourny. The 13.5K on Tilt today. After the way my day started at Tilt I never would have believed it. I lost KJ to QJ, 88 to 77 and then in a massive pot I run QQ into KK and was out of the afternoon Tilt games. I went out 53rd in the afternoon 50K on Stars. I made a 3 bet all in v.s a LP raiser with J7s and he time banked and with about 5 seconds left called with 55 and I got a great flop paired and all 3 cards over his 5s and I thinkI had a straight or flush draw but missed it all. I went out 29th in the 10^3 today. Had a big stack for most of this tournament and I lose a race late to go out there. I wasn't paying it a lot of attention b/c of the FT at tilt.

Not a lot I can say about this one. I played well I thought. Was among the CLs after we got ITM. Final table was a great set up with the big stack to my right. Table was pretty passive and I wasn't as agressive as I should have been when we got down to 6 players. I just avoided the big stack for the most part and went after the short stacks who were trying to fold up into the money. This tourny will be loaded on PXF tonight in case anyone wants to watch it. I got bumped down in the TN rankings but this should get me to 7th or 8th again. And I think this puts me in the top 1,000 at P5s. I know top 1000 isn't that big a brag but its progress.

Also as anyone who talks to me knows I'm 0-lifetime in the Nightly 100K on Stars. I finally got a cash in it tonight. With about 70 left I lose AK to QQ for 2/3 of my stack. I make a couple of steals and the blinds go up and I'm back to 10BBs. SB limps AKo and I shove T9o and he calls and flops K. I turned an OESD and bricked off. At least I finally broke through in this tourny though.

My boy stevie444 chopped the 20K on Party HU. And also went out 16th tonight in the Super Tuesday 1K on Stars. Lost a race 66 to AK.

Bubbled the 20^3 FT

Technically it was 12th but close enough. I was CL with 27 remaining. Had the 2nd stack on my direct left and tnetter on my right. He made my life constant hell. He raised my blinds evry time and if I tried to come over him he'd 4 bet me all in and I'd have to fold. Down to 2 tables I get moved and start rebuilding my stack. In about 3rd or 4th place I reraise from the SB with AT for over 1/3 of my stack over a LP raise and he calls. Which is really a bad play but anyway flop comes AKx and I bet out and he shoves forcing me to call and he shows AJo and I'm out in 12th.

Nothing else really went well today. Computer locked up and had to be rebooted 2x about 30 minutes into the 100K tonight and I come back and had been blinding out of 7 tournies for about 10-15 minutes before I got everything settled.

Overall I really think I've turned my game up a couple notches and even though I'm not making any major scores I'm right there deep in a lot of events and barring a few unfortunate cards and late suckouts I would have a few already. But if I keep playing like this sooner or later I'm bound to dodge a 3 outter HU and get a win. Also I've moved up to almost 1.5K PLBs on Pocket 5s and should be ranked 8th in the state of TN when all my scores get in.

2nd place 14.5K on tilt

Man I really played my heart out in this tourny today. I played probably one of my best tournies ever. Wit 2 tables left I got crippled down to about 5BBs I think and built my way back up and was CL when we went to 1 table. 3 handed I had a super nit and a super LAG and the nit won out. HU I'm a 3:1 dog and he literally folded the CL to me. He'd limp fold, he folded every BB. Occasionally he'd open raise and I could fold cause it was obv he had a hand. I get TT and he limps I raise again and he shoves K7s and flops a K. I was kind of surprised to see him this weak but he had limped a lot and folded to my raises and I felt he was getting tired of me. I start rebuilding my stack and get QQ and he shoves and I call and he had A7 or something in that range and he flops an Ace and I'm out 2nd. Those 2 suckouts cost me about 2K. :-( But I'm still happy with my play and thats what matters.

I also bubbled the final table 360 max on Stars. Thats 4 in 2 days. Pretty sick.

Chris Ferguson got moved to my Mulligan table today and he shoves 11BBs in EP with 33, I ship it with AK. Flop K hi and tun is a 3. I wanted my bounty and t-shirt. :-( Orbit later I crippled Chris and he's got 1BB and folding. I then lose 88 to AT and get crippled myself but I have Chris covered. He shoves UTG with a pair of 6s and I shove A8o and flop an Ace and it holds. :-)

I go out 20th in the 25K on stars. I raise AQ in EP flatted by the BB. Flop comes ATT he checks I make my standard c-bet and he insta shoves me. I think a second and I can't see him doing this with a T so I call. He had AJ. turn blanks river is a J and I'm out. If I win the hand I'm 3rd in chips with 20 left and he's crippled. Top 9 was guaranteed 1K min and 1st place was over 15K.

Its hard to complain about the weekend I've had with so many deep runs but I'm really not thrilled with my finishes. Not a lot I could do on my end though.

bubbled 3 FTs so far

Amazing I wake up early today and decide to play some morning games since I've missed a lot this week and won't be playing tonight. I think I played some afternoon games Friday and it was about like Wednesday with me getting AA and KK snapped off left and right. Not sure if I mentioned this hand last time or not. I raise AA UTG and SB calls and flop is Q8x and he CRAI with A9s and runner runners a flush.

So back to today. I placed 11th in a Tilt $10 tourny when I lose KK v/s 66 AIPF. I finished 11th in a 20/180 on Stars and I finished 12 or 13th in a $20 MTT on Stars. I bubbled 2 more tournies on tilt and missed the money in the VIP freeroll by 30 people when I lose a 3 way all in with KK v/s 99 and A8 and flop is a 9. I lost 6 pairs to sets today mainly on FT. 5 of them were all in preflop and the other I had QQ and raised and called by 99 and the flop came 9 hi and I can't get away from QQ there.

Maybe I'm working all these beats out of my system and I can get some nice scores tomorrow hopefully.

FT 15K on Tilt

Still a bunch of bad beats and bad stories. I was CL 27 left at the Tilt 15K this afternoon and blinded out and finished 9th. In over an hour I think I had AT and A9 were the only 2 hands I had. I opened both in MP and once had 3 callers and had to muck the flop and the other I open and get reraised and fold. Table was pretty wild lots of raisers and lots of people calling down and I couldn't get a hand to play.

I built a decent stack in the 100K tonight and lose KK to A6s before the break. I don't play a hand for 30 minutes and open from the CO with KK idiot insta shoves A6s and cripples me. I ran KK and AK into AA 3 or 4 times again today to exit other tournies. Just frustrating as hell and my downward spiral continues.

I did move up to 9th in points for the state of TN whenever P5s gets all the updates. I'm still moving up in scores there but not getting anything to really make a big score with. But i got a feeling something is coming soon.

what a miserable day

Few cashed today and a FT but overall a horrible day. I cashed the 20^3 today think I went out 21st or 20th something like that. Up and down in the early 109 but somehow I managed to hang on long enough to cash it. I made the FT of the 13.5K and not sure about my final play. Probably just ul but I could have played it faster. I'm in 3rd 7 left CL who has been pretty agro opens in EP and I flat in the BB with AA. I was pretty sure he was folding to a reraise and my plan was to CRAI any flop. Flop comes T97 I think and he had TT and I was out. Not much I can do there IMO. He hit a 2 outer on me but may have doubled me up on some safe flops. Then I lose AA to TT on another T hi flop to go out of the Mulligan. This time TT limps the CO and I pot it and he calls and shoves the flop and I'm out. Then I'm short in FTOPS and there is a raise and reraise in front I shove KK and we have a 3 way all in. AK v/s QQ v/s KK river A obv. So there ends another horrible sunday. Not sure what the damage on the day is. Probably -1500 or so. Could be worse if I hadn't made the FT. Could have been much better had I not been 2 outed at the FT as well I guess.

AQ is not the nuts

WTF is up with all these donks playing AQ like AA? No one folds AQ anymore. I get crippled late in another tourny today when near the bubble overpots the btn with AQo and I shove him with 88 and he beats me in the pot with AQo and obv rivers me cause I can't win a flip anymore. But its unreal how many people lately have knocked me out of tournaments cause they can't fold AQ. Does everyone want to flip for their tourny life now? Its standard that every donk out there overplays AK but now AQ is the new AK I guess.

To top my day off I lose KK to AA kinda deep in a Tilt tourny, the above crippled tourny I limped into the money somehow. The 25K today was great when idiot limp/calls 5x with 22 and flop is 345 and he calls pot bets to the river with his draw and catches. I'm pretty sure I got crippled in the 50K to another race v/s AQo again too.

random venting

Haven't posted anything in almost a week. Had to take a couple days off this week and when I have played the results haven't been that good. If I could catch a break or win a flip late would be nice. I made 1 FT this week in a $75 buy in on Tilt I don't remember what. Maybe the 14.5 or the 25K. I haven't had much else. I've had several small cashes and lots of finishes near the money. Tonight I blew up in the 25K $109. Having a huge stack after the bubble and was at least top 10 probably 7th or 8th if I had to guess and lost a monster flip for almost all of my chips and go out 28th place. I raise 88 on the btn and the SB insta reraises me and its an overbet. I think a second and just shove him and he calls me with AQo and turns an Ace and I'm crippled. I had him covered but not by much. He was getting almost 2:1 so I guess by that logic he has to call. Sure I had been a nit at the table and only shown down premium hands but he's getting 2:1 and he can fold and still have plenty of chips but you can't fold there...ever I mean come on its AQ. And my range includes no hands your ahead of. And hell I'm probably folding 88 and 99 and maybe AQ 1/2 the time. So he's facing TT+ and AK and AQ runs off great v/s that range. Then in a Stars classic setup about 3 hands later I shove JJ and run into QQ.

But I learned something tonight and thats obv no ever 3 bets with the intention of folding. So if I get 3 bet I should just muck anything thats not AA and even then I'm probably a coinflip at best to win. Which gets me to my other point of I lose way too many coinflips and should probably fold AA to a 3 bet as well if I'm only 50/50 to win.

FT of the 25K on Stars

Took a couple days off and played tonight. Missed the early games but started with Sunday Million. Nothing went well today except the 25K on Stars. I played probably as good as I ever have. Made the final table tied for 1st with a ton of chips. 5 handed I lose a pot for almost 1/2 the chips in play. I raise AK in the SB and the BB who was very aggressive just flatted. Flop comes Kxx I bet and he shoves QTo and I make the call. He catches the runner runner straight. I eventually go out in 4th. MP raises I reraise with AJ and mr QTo shoves me and I have to call and he had QQ and I don't improve. I really felt like if I won the AK v/s QT hand the tournament was over. I went completely card dead after that hand and felt like I got kicked in the nuts. Hard to be happy with a $4K cash when you thought you were getting the $14K 1st place.

In other news Stevie444 won a freeroll on Tilt for a Winner Choice WPT/EPT event. And currently CL of the Mulligan on Tilt with 23 players remaining. MBN to run that good. I wouldn't know. :-(

Nothings changed

Well I thought a day off after my horrible weekend would do some good but it hasn't. I did manage to slip ITM in a few games but nothing much to speak of. Spent over an hour in 2nd place in the 15K on tilt and didn't even get close to the bubble which wasn't fun. I'm still running into AA every time i turn around its sick. Even when I have AA I run into AA. Another great showing in the 100K on Stars. I raise A8dd in the SB and get called in the BB. Flop Qxx 2 diamonds and I bet out he calls. Turn is 9d making my flush. I check and he makes a big bet. I decide to just flat and see what the river brings. I thought CRAI there just gave my hand away. River is another 9. I think a minute and shove and he insta calls me. He had Q9o and rivered me. I don't know if he folds the turn if I CRAI but really not sure I wanted him too. If he's drawing to 4 cards I want him in the hand.

I bubbled a 20/180 tonight. AKs < AA on the bubble. Everyone having AA when I can't get away from hands is really getting tiresome though.

This is getting out of hand. 3 days in a row now I've pretty much ran into AA when I have AK/AQ and can't get away preflop. I have an over pair all in either pre or on the flop and am up against a lower pair that gets/has a set. I can't even complain about lost coin flips cause I can't even get myself into a coin flip situation. Todays highlights are in the Sunday million losing AA to 66 and 55 all in pre when 66 rivers the flush and 55 rivers a set. Then shoving J9 in the SB and called by 43o who rivers trips over my pair. KK losing to 86o who overcalled pre and flopped trips.

No exaggeration I've run into AA at least 10 times this weekend to knock me out of tournaments. Which is at least 20% of my games. And I think I've run into sets v/s my overpairs even more often than that. Lost KK to J9o who limp/called 5x and then CRAI with no FE on a T9x flop and made trips in a $75 MTT on tilt.

I know I'm missing some other beautiful suck outs in there somewhere but at the moment I'm really numb and in a state of shock. Oh the VIP freeroll for 2 PCA seats. Great tourny 20 min blinds and 5K stacks starting at 10/20. Hour 2 MP raises and I reraise about 1/2 my stack w/ AK so obv he shoves AQ and knocked me out of the tournament.

The only bright spot on the week other than stevie's sick Fri/Sat run is that I made 2 final tables even though the 109 where I took 9th wasn't exactly a good one. I very likely will be taking tomorrow off unless I happen to hit a monster heater to make up for the week and make some big score tonight. Doubtful I know.

edit add an exit in the Mulligan I raise KK 2 calls flop is low I bet 2 shoves I call one guy had 77 and the other 33 for bottom set and the 77 rivers a set and my KK is no good.

re edit: My exit in the 750K on Tilt. A4s < A2s at tilt when i flop flush draw and he rivers my 4 for a run run straight and KK < JTs in the 25K on stars when I turn my set which makes his straight.

Stevie's sick day

My buddy Stevie just had a sick sick day. He wins his 1st 109RB. He final tables the 20+1+1, a Party tourny, and the 17.5K on Tilt. And he made the final 2 tables of another tournament on Tilt. And only played 1/2 the day. Pretty amazing run. All the final tables were close together I think within 30 minutes total probably.

My day wasn't near as interesting. I ran into AA more times than I care to think about. I believe I only had 2 cashes. Had a 35th in the 50K on Stars. Bubbled the 50K on tilt and the 24K on tilt tonight. Hoping tomorrow things level back out and I'm on the other end of those AA hands.

$109 25K sick cooler at FT

OK this will be short. Pretty rough day in everything. Very few scores a ton of lost races. I lost a ton of overpairs to draws all in on the flop in almost every afternoon tourny. Had a nice stack in the 5RB 6 max on tilt and a sick table of deep stack calling stations and just before the money I go card dead. Can't take stations off of 3rd pair and my stack just got depleted quickly. Then I got 3 outted for most of my stack when UTG raises KQo and I shove AK and someone else calls and he calls as well.

I made the final table of the Stars $109 25K. I had a decent stack throughout and the final 3 tables were just super agro. I just sat back as best I could and waited for resteal spots. I found one in my BB with 76s but ran into TT with about 15 players left and I turn a flush. I was 2nd place at the FT and CL to my left. 1st orbit I raise TT and he reraises me. I think a minute and reraise him knowing I'm committed and he shoves JJ and I don't improve and out 1st. Pretty sick. He was the one guy I was wanting to not play a pot with until some of the short stacks were out of the way. 1st was 12K+ and I settle for 9th for 860. :-(
