30 game down swings own

This is sick. I had a huge day Monday starting off up like 18 BIs before dropping 10 and finished up 7 or 8. Was sick yesterday and didn't play and tonights results have made me sick again. 44 games -$400. So I've now managed to drop 30 BIs in under 90 games. Its horrific. The best was a 3 way all in lvl 2 my AA v/s JJ and JT and JT makes a straight. We all had starting stacks as well. He called my EP raise directly on my left, then LP 3 bets, I 4 bet all in and JTo calls. So sick. But I can't win a race, all my pairs get snapped off by Ax.

I don't know whats going on. I started off really good at HU games and then hit a huge swing like this. And now the same happening at the 24Ts. I'll give them another run tomorrow and hopefully I'm feeling better and running better. I'm still rolled for these but if I run much worse I'm going to be in the 12Ts again. The only thing that has me not on life tilt is I've had 500 game break even stretches before and this is currently only a 200 game break even stretch and I might be up a BI or two with rakeback.

swing day

Man what a swing today was. I played 80 games today and each 40 was complete opposites. At 40 games I was up 440 and 55% ITM. I finished the day up only 179 and 41% ITM. Still a good day over all but dropping 10 Buy Ins over my last 40 games was rough. I won 2 games out of my last 40. I either got cold decked like JJ into QQ 5 handed, I lost a ton of races and a ton of pairs v/s Ax. Every time I got deep someone wanted to call off Ax or KTs.

My plan for March is to play 3 sets of 40 games a day 6 days a week. I hope to start getting there this week but today's last 40 just made me want to kill myself so I stopped. I plan to grind out about 3K SNGs at the 24Ts and then I'll think about moving up. But if I can pull this off I'll be caught up on my bills and at least slow down the job search. I hope to run 10% w/o rakeback at this level. I think I can run better than that but I'll need a bigger sample to see. Currently I've got 400 games and 10.2%. I still have some work to do on my ICM play. I've got to keep reviewing HHs and I'll get back on my A game again.

Bad shot at the 36Ts

Tried the 36Ts for about 30 games tonight and it didn't go that well. 1st set of 8 games my best finish was a 4th. I ran awful. Then I did another set and I won 1, 2 3rds, and I bubbled 4 games. I don't remember how they all went. I think I shove and got called loose and lost a couple of races, then got coolered a couple other times running into over pairs. I set a 10 game drop before moving down and I was sitting at about -7. I decided to just play 4 games and see how it went. If I lost them I'd move down to the 24Ts. Well I had a win and 3 5ths. So I decided to play another 4 and had the same results. I did 1 last set of 4 and I went 1-2-3-4 in them so I only finished down about 4 BIs overall. I'll go back to 8 tabling them tomorrow.

Today was just sick overall though. I kept getting my pairs cracked by underpairs all in. I lost QQ to 87o AIPF he went runner runner boat on me. I got called on the bubble super loose by some of the guys who were multi tabling and I figured they were somewhat decent and were calling off stacks with weak Aces and medium Kings. The players seemed to gamble a lot more than the 24Ts but thats not really a bad thing. Hopefully I do better tomorrow and I can stay at the 36s. If not I'll move to the 24s and probably spend a couple weeks there since I need to cash out some at the end of next week.

And is it me or the PXF forums just over run with bad beat and rigged posts lately? I mean you can't find anything in the regular forum lately. I made a post about I found a way to beat inter poker and had a link to a computer wrapped in aluminum foil. I doubt many of them will catch what I meant by the post though. But PXF seriously needs to start handing out tin foil hats if the forums keep heading in this direction. At least the SNG forum seems to be getting some more action as of late.

another quick update

OK doing another quick update. I've tried like 3 times now to do a damn SNG video and the software crashes at the end of every one of them. Plus I've been sick most of the weekend didn't help. Still no updates on the job front. I was really sure I had the UPS job and there's still a chance as it doesn't start until early March but I'm not holding my breath.

I've been doing nothing but 9 man SNGs for about the last week. I did a quick run through the 12Ts on Tilt and when I got 20 BIs for the 24s I moved up. I know its a small amnt of buy ins but my plan was to move back down if I ran bad. I did pretty well. I played 4 days of them and I've played almost 200 games and 14% ROI including rakeback. It's better than I expected to be honest but the sample is small. The level of play is worse than I expected which is fine. I expected the level of play in the 24s to be similar to Stars 16Ts and 27Ts and I'd say its worse. Stars 16s I used to see 2 regulars in almost every game and I can't recall seeing many regulars at all at Tilt so far. The ones I've seen haven't been that good either. I've only played 4 days of the 24s and I was like +$200, -$220, +$250, +$350 so I can't complain too much I've run pretty well and played very well I think. I hit the 30 buy in mark tonight for the 36s and I did 8 games. I didn't run good and the games took a while to fill up too. I think I won 1 and had 2 3rds so I took a small loss on them. I'm going to try grinding them tomorrow and move down if I drop 10 buy ins at them. I've set a goal of 50 buy ins for the 60Ts but I've got to cash out some funds next week so it will be a while before I get a chance to move up to them.

I tried 12 tabling continuous at the 12s one day and in combination of running bad and I got pretty frustrated and I don't think I was playing my A game. I would like to try 12 tabling continuously but I've done so many games just 8 tabling it just feels natural. I don't like cascading and if I want to do more than 8 I have to cascade or add another video card and 2 more monitors and stack them. I don't see me doing that. I may try to 8 table continuous and then try to cascade them and see how that goes and then move up to more tables. I know if I could play cascaded adding more tables is much easier but I like tiled because I can view the action and track my progress. I struggle in cascade mode because in the early levels when I raise I can't see what the action is behind cause other tables pop up. Or maybe 2 people get knocked out in a hand and we're on the bubble and I don't notice it right away cause the tables pop up so quick. So I may just stick to 8. If I keep doing SNGs and moving up there is no way I could play more than 8 at a time above the 109s b/c there just wouldn't be enough games available.

Its a problem I'll worry about later. For now I plan to just keep grinding and job hunting. If I happen to run at 10%+ 8 tabling the 36s then I'll reconsider. I really should probably have done this at Stars since I was SuperNova and kept my Nova status there but I really think that Tilt has a lot less regulars and with rakeback I'm probably going to make more per game at Tilt. But I could be wrong. I'm going to need to play a lot more games to get an idea of what is possible at these games. Ironman and the FTP store though is a lot crappier than the Stars VIP program and FPP store.

OK this was much longer than I had planned. LOL! I jumped around and back and forth typing this so hopefully it makes some sense. If I can get this video to record tonight or tomorrow I'll post a link to it here.

quick update

OK i haven't blogged at all in like a week so I'll do a quick update. I started playing some 12T SNGs on Tilt this week and doing ok. Mixed in some 24Ts tonight and did well too. I uploaded one of my old SNG vids and linked it on PXF in the SNG forum.

I tried to do a new one tonight and after an hour or so of getting everything set up and then recording it crashed during the compression or whatever it was doing and I lost it all. I'm going to try to do another recording over the weekend and I'll link it here if I get it working.

Back to SNGs and looking for a backer

Well I did some more micro HU games tonight and I'm finished with them for now. Theme of the night was guy limp/calls 5x with 63o and I have KK. Flop is 833 and I can't get away from an overpair here v/s a calling station. Anyway after a long chat session with Sheets tonight I think I'm going to try going back to grinding SNGs. I'm going to ask a few people and see if I can get someone to back me for a little while until I grind a roll again. If someone wants to back me LMK. I'm going to offer stakeback and 40% profits at the 16Ts, 45% at the 27Ts, and 50% at the 60Ts. I've taken better offers in the past at these stakes so I feel they are pretty fair. I'm hoping to 8 table these like I used to.

Also had an interview with UPS today. I think I may have a job there in a month as the morning supervisor. Its a PT job about 27 hours a week 3am-8am. Also a lot of date entry stuff as well which is fine by me. Would allow me to play poker at night full time and work PT with full benefits. We'll see but I'm hoping this works out.

If anyone is interested in staking me e-mail at jackofhearts0013@gmail.com please.

The beats keep on coming

OK I'm blogging in between games tonight. This is unreal. I keep getting in good and losing all of the time. I've lost to 1 donk 2x in a row now. He wins 3 all ins, 2 of which he was dominated 99 v/s K8 and JJ v/s AT. The last was KJ v/s 76 and he makes a boat. Next game 1st hand he limp/calls I have QQ and make it 5x over his limp. Flop 976 he min raises and I shove and he had 76 obv. And of course he talks trash to me afterward. Here's another classic. Player has 800 chips at 50/100 limp/calls all in J7s v/s my KJs and flops FD and doubles through. I know I'm playing the micro limits but at some point I have to start winning these showdowns. I have another idiot shoving in lvl 2 I call 66 he has K2 I flop set he runner runners a straight.

I get 1 girl down to 250 chips she dbls 2x in a row (K2 v/s K3 and JT v/s A9) then gets AA v/s my KQ to get the lead. In another I get Q9 flop 998 he checkraises the flop I call. Turn T we get all in he had T9 obv. Then tells me how bad I am and how he outplayed me.

I also accidentally signed up for a non blind raising game. Of course I was 15 minutes into it before I noticed LOL! It took about 35 minutes to complete but I did manage to win it. edit I played 2 of them tonight. 2nd one took 1 hour :-(

Overall I played 25 $11.50s tonight and went 13/12 so I lost like $1.50. Not bad for once again running like complete crap. Also I do have an interview with UPS tomorrow. Its a PT night manager position during the week. About 5 hours a night but full benefits and tuition reimbursement, etc. I did some supervising at my old job so I'm not under qualified for this I'm sure. The hours are bad though cause I was really thinking of taking my staking deal again but I wouldn't be able to play MTTs except the weekends or really late at night.

This is getting out of hand

Played nothing but the $11 non turbo HUs on Tilt tonight. Played about 30 games and dropped 5 BIs. I was probably lucky to only lose 5. I ran worse tonight than I have probably during this downswing. People were raising and calling 3 bets with hands like Q7o v.s my AQ and I flop Q7x and go broke. I mean in a 3 bet pot top pair is usually a monster. What can I do when I keep getting outflopped by hands like that. Players were calling pot bets on the flop and pot sized bets all in on the turn with weak FD and OESD and almost all of them rivered me. I missed most of my semi bluff all ins on the flop or turn and rarely was I against strong hands. People were calling my shoves with 2nd and 3rd pair and no over cards or decent kickers.

I'm really frustrated and burnt out. I can't see me playing on Tilt again tomorrow. I've got like $100 on Stars I may try the $5s and $10s tomorrow and see what happens. I got offered my backing deal I had late last year. I'm very tempted to take it with how bad I'm running but unless I run extremely hot during the 1st week or two I'm in the same boat I'm in now and trying to get a job. Taking the stake is definitely an +EV move long term but the problem is I really need some kind of income coming in now and MTTs are hit or miss especially since I've got quite a bit of makeup with him too.

So honestly I have no idea what to do. I'm really tired of blogging every day the last 2 weeks about this down swing though. I'm tempted to try either 6 man or 9 man SNGs on Stars like I did in the old days.

Interview gone bad

Well I think my chances are under 10% of getting the job. They are looking for someone with more professional experience and some programming that I'm not familiar with. Oh well I gave it a shot. I am supposed to call back in a week or so and find out if I have the job. I'm not holding my breath.

I think tomorrow I'll probably start grinding the 11 or 22 HU non turbos on Tilt and see if I do any better. I played a couple more games on Absolute just blowing off some steam when I got home and won a couple more $20 HU there. I've now ran their $10 up to about $165 now and I've only played about 25 or 30 games there at most.

Also got my PXF chip set today from Mindwise and I have to say its a very nice set. I've got another nice clay chip set but my complaint was the chips were heavier than casinos. The PXF set is the same weight as casino chips. Included cards, dice, dealer button and SB and BB buttons. Its a 500 chip set I think I'm very impressed with the quality of the set. If they put these in the PXF store it would be worth saving up for IMO.

Maybe finished with Full Tilt???

Another bad day at Tilt and this is getting near suicide levels. I dropped a few buy ins at the 33s Started off well then dropped 6 out of 8. I bounced between 22s and 33s. Then after dropping at the 33s I was up about about 4 BIs at the 22s. Finished the night down about 6 there. I win 6 of my last 20 games. I'm not sure what the problem is. Obv part of it has to be me but I really hate the HU games at Tilt. Structure is just bad IMO. I try to min raise only cause you only start with 50BBs and blinds are 3 minutes but no one really folds at Tilt. And they won't fold the flop a lot of time. So you really have no idea what hand they could have so if your not making hands your fucked. I have guys calling on 4 straight/flush boards with btm pair no draw no kicker.

I can't put anyone on hands cause they won't fold. Add to that the super fast structure and its just a bad combo. That and I ran horrible again tonight. Everyone looks to call with coinflips. No one folds pairs to all ins usually. They don't fold many Aces and I got called by K9-KQ so often and it always cracked my Ax hands especially if I had them dominated. I had people calling tons of all ins with pure garbage or calling 1/2 their stack preflop and then I'd shove the flop and they would call 2nd pair etc. I don't have much left on Tilt so if I play any more at all it will be the $10 non turbos on Monday night. Honestly I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I find it hard to believe that I was beating the 57s on Stars for 2 weeks at like 8% with a couple hundred games in the 20% range to be running so bad. I just can't see there being that many holes in my game. I may try to quit playing turbos especially if I keep playing at Tilt. Maybe I'll go back to stars and try to grind my way back up.

I'm really hoping to get that job Monday and then I can just play poker for fun again. I want to keep playing the HU games. I still think I can beat them no problem but I'm not dealing with the downswing well at all. Especially since I've lost so much of my roll this week after running so well for 2 weeks.

Anyway I'm probably taking tomorrow off and watching the superbowl. then I have an interview on Monday afternoon and hopefully celebrating a new job Monday night.

AP bad beats

Well 1st bad beat at AP was finding out there is no $30 level HU games. Goes from $20s to $50s. Which is ok. Just meant I had to win a few more games before moving up. I played a little early this morning and had run it up to about $130. I won my 1st 2 $20s today then I get AJ v/s JT AIPF flop AJx turn J and he comes back to win. Then I get QQ and guy limp/calls 6x with T4s and won't fold a FD and busts me out. My AP #s look good. 5-0 at the $5s, 14-3 at the $10s, 3-3 at the $20s but I've gotten coolered in a couple of them. Play is a little better but not a lot. This last one I get AK all in v/s 33 and I flop Ace he turns 3. Gets him back to even. I grind him back down and he gets Ax v/s my QT and hits to take a slight lead. Then instacalls a 13x shove with A3o when I shove 55 and he flops 2 pair to knock me out. Frustrating cause it took like 30 minutes. Thats why I really prefer Turbos on other sites. Still my roll there is now $130 after going 3-3 today at the 20s. Not bad from a $10 freebie.

Its sad when my $10 on AP is growing faster and will soon be bigger than my roll on Tilt. Especially since I'm playing less than 10 games a day at AP and I'm usually checking e-mail and stuff while I play there. I'm playing non turbos so sometimes they do take 25 minutes or more to finish but usually they don't. And the turbos start at a lower blind structure so sometimes regulars finish faster. The weirdest thing is there is a 50/75 blind level instead of 50/100.

I plan to do a late session at Tilt tonight. I want to get 200 points before 11pm and then 200 after so I get credit for 2 days of Ironman since I won't be playing much if at all on Sunday. I'll prolly update this or do another blog idk.

Still running bad at Tilt/Good at Absolute

Can't explain it but Absolute loves me. I've turned their $10 in about $110 now. Just goofing off in the afternoons there when I'm bored. I'm like 16-2 in my HU games there. Tilt offered me a $75 bonus so I'm playing there anyway and played 50 games tonight. Games are so quick. Like 8 min a game average time. I ran horrible as usual but only down 50 on the night or something. Went 1-4 in the 33s then 25-22 in the 22s. Lots and lots of coolers. I lost a few flips in level 1 big pairs v/s AK. I flop 2 pair or set and opponent had flush/straight. I flop nut straight, they turn 2nd nut straight + FD and shove me and get there. My favs were a guy called my 4 bet all in lvl 1 with QTo and my AJs was no good. And another guy called 2/3 of his stack pre with 66 and flopped a set on my AA. I'm going to keep plugging away at them. I'll start with the 22s tomorrow and probably bounce back and forth between them and the 33s until I can keep myself in the 33s for a while.

I've got a job interview on Monday afternoon as well. Kinda nervous about it. I have no idea what kind of pay its going to have but even if its a little lower than I wanted I may take it just to have some experience on my resume.

Also I'll mention it here but Mindwise is sending me a PXF chip set for my 4th place finish in the PXF Invitational tournament b/c he always had a chip set. So thanks to Mindwise very cool of him. I may keep my subscription there a little longer.
